Been a minute since I posted any thoughts, so… MY #FGC Predictions for rest of 2026 1.This sudden “love for grassroots” is going to fail spectacularly. You can’t spend a decade bowing 🙇 to the Esports gods and then pretend you’re an arcade scene again. That ship sailed… and you helped push it. 2.NRS will not release MK13. Instead we’ll get a bare-bones, low-budget, asset-recycling Injustice 3 with the same graphics and a story centered around Wonder Woman, Supergirl, or whatever “girl-power saves the multiverse” script they pull from a drawer. 3.EVO will eventually realize that having multiple EVOs a year is a dumb idea. Then it’ll slowly turn into a traveling circus convention until it becomes completely unwatchable. 4.After this year, publishers will finally realize Pro Tours aren’t worth the effort and start focusing on the actual audience, the people who buy the games,instead of the same 40 “pro players” farming flights and prize pools. 5.Raising money for someone who broke the law is noble and all… but honestly it’d probably be smarter to hand him the cash so he can start over somewhere else rather than lighting it on fire paying attorneys. 6.And finally, the #FGC will continue its proud tradition of being absolute assholes to each other, while simultaneously pretending it’s the most loving and supportive community on Earth.
