You're going to see a lot of Deadpool VR reviews launching today I'm sure, unfortunately mine won't be one of them and here is why. I did get early access and I did play through the first two worlds in the game. I originally wasn't going to play it because of the large amount of vulgar language in the game but I booted it up to see if they happened to have a censored mode and they do! Which I was excited for. It's called Kidpool mode. And it takes out the vast majority of the swearing and it even replaces the gore with confetti. I thought it was great they gave options, but as the game went on I realized that the adult humor in the game was getting more and more raunchy. By the end of the second chapter I stopped playing. I know not everyone will feel that way, but just having the swearing taken out wasn't enough for me to be able to enjoy the game. When it comes to the game itself, it was pretty good. The art direction I really like and the combat is good but not great. It's very arcade like and sometime feels a but off for whatever reason for me. The story was interesting mostly, although I wasn't really pulled in with this game and the pacing was a but weird. Lot's of talking all of the time while playing which is fine but even the cutscenes felt long at times. I love the upgrades and costumes you can unlock and the weapons. The boss fights were a highlight in what I played and the opening sequence is amazingly cinematic. I have a feeling that it's gonna be a fairly short game but I could be wrong. It comes down to the fact that with the massive amount of over the top very vulgar adult humor that isn't edited out with the Kidpool mode I couldn't in good conscience finish the game, I'm sure some people will love it though.
