@awwsnash @naomibrockwell I found out about her through Youtube. And her video on @OdyseeTeam convinced me to switch over Odysee. Where i watch 80% of my videos now with the other 10% on @tilvids @joinpeertube instance.

@JoeS09427012 @LinusTech @thelinuxEXP Definitely check out the #PeerTube ecosystem. Lots of different instances available (or roll your own) and YouTube sync means you can support an alternative ecosystem without really any additional effort.

@tilvids @LinusTech @thelinuxEXP What alternative platforms? The vast majority of us are on Youtube, and we don't pay for it either. Is there another free video-creator platform with even a tenth of Youtube's reach?

It's unfortunate that folks like @LinusTech won't look into alternative platforms. Makes me all the more impressed with what creators like @thelinuxEXP and others are doing with #PeerTube.

It'd be really neat if @signalapp would spin up social presences on @joinmastodon @joinpeertube @PixelFed and other #decentralized services. Certainly seems like those ecosystems align more with their philosophy than Twitter and Instagram...
