This is me 30 years ago. Happy and proud to serve my country. I came to Israel with my family when I was 15. We had a good life in Lithuania, but my parents decided make Aliyah, because we were/are Zionists. I finished high school and then served in IDF. Now, 30 years later, many people in Europe, USA, Canada, Australia, with their brains clouded with hate, are absolutely ready to murder me, for the sin of living in my country and serving for a year and a half in the army of my country. Literally basic things that all the other humans on Earth are allowed to do. But they made up special rules for Jews.

How will you continue your day after hearing that a father in Gaza, trapped beneath the rubble, begged rescuers not to save him? Not because he had lost hope in life, but because he could hear his daughters’ final breaths beneath the debris. Their tiny hands were holding his in the darkness, as if pleading with him one last time. He was the father who had always been their safe refuge, yet this time he was powerless to pull them from the dust and shattered concrete. Only his head was visible above the wreckage. He looked into the eyes of the rescuers, his own eyes exhausted by fear and helplessness, and said: “Leave me… my daughters are here… I do not want to come out alone.” What heart can bear such a scene? What language can describe the agony of a father who realizes he is losing his daughters one by one, while still holding their hands until they grow cold, unable to offer rescue or even one final embrace? How will your day go on after knowing this story? How will you sit at your table in peace, or laugh at something trivial, knowing that somewhere there was a father whose last wish was not to survive alone? And the question that continues to haunt the human conscience remains: How much pain must the world witness before it finally hears the cry of a single father there?

Someone sent Gabe an antisemitic message. He shared it publicly to show the level of antisemitism that exists today. He did not dox anyone. Now people are trying to destroy his business because he exposed this message. The Holocaust was just 80 years ago. Six million Jews were murdered simply because they were Jewish. This isn't ancient history. Holocaust survivors are still alive today. Antisemitism has existed for centuries, and it likely won't disappear. Most Jewish children grow up hearing the same message from their grandparents: "People may hate you simply because you're Jewish. Stand up to it." I didn't fully understand that growing up. But since October 7th, I've watched antisemitism become normalized. Too many people now openly express hatred toward Jews simply because they are Jewish. The only way to respond is to stay united, continue speaking out, and share our experiences with the hope that one day this hatred fades. Never forget. And never be scared to stand up for what you believe in.
