In only 10 days, Israel is set to remove NRC’s registration and make our life-saving work for Palestinians even more difficult. Already we see aid flows into Gaza reducing. Since 2009, NRC has provided essential humanitarian aid in Gaza and the West Bank. We have reached over one million people in Gaza, and 100,000 on the West Bank, since October 2023. This includes, in Gaza alone: 🟠Water and sanitation to over 500,000 people 🟠Shelter to almost 300,000 people 🟠Legal aid to over 50,000 people International NGOs in Gaza collectively: - Run 60% of field hospitals - Run all the stabilisation centres for children with severe malnutrition - Fund more than half of all mine and explosive hazard clearance Life-saving work. At least 40 aid groups will lose registration and access. This will prevent our life-saving assistance. Deregistration = fewer humanitarian organisations = fewer services reaching families in desperate need There are only 10 days to reverse this dangerous and damaging policy.

Humanitarian work in Iran:  For almost a week, an internet shutdown in Iran has severely disrupted communications, making it harder for NRC to stay in touch with our staff and the communities they serve. Despite this, our operations continue with no offices closed. Since 2012, NRC has worked alongside local partners in Iran to support Afghan refugees as well as the Iranian communities hosting them. It is too often forgotten that Iran continues to host 4.4 million Afghans — one of the largest and longest standing refugee populations in the world. Many refugee families are facing ever greater challenges meeting daily needs. NRC will continue to work with local partners and to adapt our support so that people in the most difficult circumstances can access the help they desperately need.

A year has passed since the detention of my father, In this white coat, he walked alone amidst death, destruction, and in front of tanks—not because he was fearless, but because his oath and his humanity were greater than any fear. He refused to abandon the children and the wounded at Hospital , and for that, he was detained. This image is a testament to the courage of the man who was the last line of defense for life, and it is the very same scene that ended with his unjust arrest. A full year of injustice has passed.
