2025-26 Topps Flagship NBA Black Friday Target boxes have landed, catching a lot of people off-guard. If you follow my breakdowns, you already knew what was coming , but here’s a quick rundown for everyone wondering what these boxes offer and whether the $35 price tag is justified. Total production is 345,682 boxes, a little over 8,600 cases. This is down from the early estimate of 13,500 cases because, at the time, @Topps hadn’t revealed that these Value Boxes contain 11 packs instead of the typical 7. With roughly 2,000 Target stores in the U.S., that averages a bit over 4 cases (160 boxes) per store. Target seems to be enforcing the 2-per-customer rule more consistently, so some stores may stay stocked for a while, while high-traffic locations could be sold out within days. Box Configuration 11 packs of 10 cards (121 total) Cost per card: 27 cents Hit Frequencies & Cost Autos: 1 per 19.44 boxes $ per auto: $680.49 Parallels: Avg 9.27 per box (5–6 will be Blackout parallels + 1 Holofoil) $ per parallel: $5.93 Inserts: Avg 10.26 per box $ per insert: $3.41 Numbered cards: 1 per 1.72 boxes $ per numbered card: $60.20 Relics: 1 per 8.07 boxes $ per relic: $282.45 These Target exclusive boxes are working with a whole different checklist of parallels, autos, and inserts than standard Value Boxes. Pullable Parallels & Inserts: Holofoil and numbered Holofoil parallels are available and inserted at slightly better rates than typical Value Boxes. Expect one base Holofoil per box. Retail “case hits” Sonic Boom and Sole Ambition are possible, but rare: Sonic Boom: 1 in 6.5 cases Sole Ambition: 1 in 32 cases All standard retail inserts and their parallels are available. Retail auto subsets (Topps Notch Signatures, New Applicants Autos, Signed & Sealed, Rookie Photo Shoot Autos, Flagship Real One Autos, 1980-81 Topps Autos) are pullable with better odds than regular Value Boxes, but slightly worse than Fanatics Value Boxes. These Exclusive Parallels, Autos, & Inserts are the real upside of this SKU: Blackout: ~6,340 copies each Surge /99 Flash Drop /50 Cart Load /25 Cyber Circuit /5 Doorbuster /1 Inserts Limited Stock Legends: ~9,500 copies each + parallels Scan & Slam: ~9,500 copies each + parallels Autos Retail Rush Signatures: Flash Drop /50, Cart Load /25, Doorbuster /1 Shopping Spree Signatures: Weirdly base print run on these computes to 7 copies each, but there are parallels of Flash Drop /50, Cart Load /25, Doorbuster /1 Relics Store Exclusive Relics: 200 copies each + parallels Retail Ripper Relics: 260 copies each + parallels The only other relics available in this format are Real One Relics, which are shared across all SKUs. The rest of the typical retail relic lineup does not appear in Black Friday boxes. Are they worth $35? Opinions will certainly be divided, so I can't really answer that for you-but if you’re comfortable paying $25 for a regular Value Box, these Black Friday boxes are objectively a better buy across the board.
