The devs gave us so many clues that Valko was meant to be the part of the story...That alone proves he isn't a rushed character. Lads isn't complete without Valko. without him the game is gonna feel like a novel with empty pages..It's honestly not that hard to understand...

no srsly I am a Zayne and Sylus main and usually they both are the ones to flick mc's head or hold her hand or pin her but with Valko , mc is the dominating bully its so cute , he is like an obedient dog , ik this because i am a dog person . whenever i say no to anything my Theo gives me the same look (theo is a sassy lab)
