@profsamperry Sorry, not the best person for learning resources, but I recommend the Anaconda distribution and the PyCharm IDE. Numpy is essential, Pandas will likely be helpful for more complex data analysis, and Matplotlib is good for plots/visualizations. All have good documentation.

Silex Springs at Yellowstone National Park. Here's another single exposure Milky Way landscape lit with a @LuxliLight Fiddle at 1% intensity about 100 feet to the right of the spring on a light stand. Thanks to my daughter, who helped with the lighting and framing. On this particular night, at one of the busiest times of year, we didn't see another person for hours besides the occasional car or truck that would pass by on the road. This is just a quick reminder of the magic to the dark side on Nationals Parks. Anyways, back to the story. I had scoped out this spot last time I was in Yellowstone, but we just didn't have clear skies. So, with the plan locked into PhotoPills, I returned this night on a more favorable forecast courtesy of Astrospheric. Once we showed up, the longest time was getting the focus dialed in, but it took about 15-20 minutes to get to this frame, we captured it and moved on to the next location. The moral of the story is that persistence is key with photography. You might not get the ideal scene or weather on a particular night, but the plan is solid. Just wait and save it for when an acceptable opportunity presents itself. And I say "acceptable" there intentionally, because even this night the weather and forecast wasn't ideal but it was acceptable so we went out and tried and it ended up being better than acceptable.
