Jack Heath accepted the Founder’s Award on behalf of Washington Trust Bank at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Inland Northwest Legacy Luncheon. The award recognizes more than three decades of partnership. Since 1987, Washington Trust has supported Ronald McDonald House Charities, which provides a home-away-from-home for families traveling to Spokane while their child receives critical medical care. From volunteer service and board leadership to helping expand the Spokane Campus so more families can stay close to the hospital, our commitment has focused on easing the burden during some of life’s most difficult moments. After speaking at the Real Estate Market Forum, Washington Trust Bank Chief Economist Steve Scranton shared one policy change builders should be paying attention to. A recent ruling tied to local comprehensive plans could open the door for greater housing density if cities fail to meet new state requirements by July 31. For developers, it represents a significant shift in how projects may move forward. Steve’s challenge for the audience was simple: look for the positive signals in the economy.
