@timmrgn It’s a good “has this person actually built anything complex?” Litmus test. “I’m a developer. This should be an easy feature.”

And be excessively suspicious of strangers telling you that your passion project is overcomplicated or would be a “weekend project” for them. Good for them. “Then do it!” should be your answer! (Just know 99.9% of the time it’s utter baloney and worthy of zero of your attention)

Don’t let anyone (other than your employer) tell you you’re working on the Wrong Thing or the right thing but the Wrong Way. Fiercely guard your personal time and don’t let any stranger—or even a well-meaning friend—steal your joy! 🤗
