3. There are a lot of different analyses that have been done using different variables--both modifiable (things you can change, like your blood glucose numbers) and non-modifiable (things you can't change, like your age.) This makes it hard to make sense of what's important.

One of @RutNdjab's final postdoc papers before she took up her position as faculty is now out! This was a real labour of love & persistence. TLDR: people with diabetes are often warned about complications, but getting trustworthy risk predictions is hard. jech.bmj.com/content/early/…

We took an opportunity to expand our research in how to understand & present relationships between population- & individual-level health by collaborating with Dr. Rhéa Rocque, a former research assistant who had since completed her PhD & moved to the @PrairieClimate Centre.
