Dinner tonight was in a proper pub in the middle of nowhere. Log fires with an unpretentious menu of great pub grub. I’m absolutely stuffed. I also paid Tribute to a local brewer who does a Proper Job 👍🏼 … some will get what I mean. Some won’t.

Interesting chat with @TomShanklin on the pod this eve. Do these drubbings in the Prem attract ‘flirting’ fans? I argue not, and that actually, the ‘boring’ Lions tests were so tense and close (esp the 3rd) that nobody would leave the room. 50 points up with 20 to go? Job done.

I probably just sound like an old man yelling at kids on lawn.
But my view here is still, there is no wrong way to do venture.
But when you think about why and how you want to be an investor, think about what time horizon you're working with, as the approach materially matters.

I've spent a lot of time talking to potential VC candidates over the past year.
We screened 800+ for our investor hire in 2020 & have screened 400+ for our principal hire.
One thing is clear, a huge % of applicants are indexing on deal making/trading. This disappoints me.
