That old dream that moves and la Vida util over one weekend - most wonderful unplanned double feature of two perfect 60ish min movies about jobs ending 💖. That was my first guiraudie several years ago and the magic of it never diminishes for me.

@MKupperman having had to deal with a bunch of these (lumps and ultrasounds and such), wishing you the same outcome as all of mine which is that it’s just benign things my body likes to bring up to remind me of my mortality

On the verge of something that feels scary but could also be really really good for me. Pls do the thing where you tell the universe to make it happen if it’s good for me etc. Tia

Top tier of the kindaichi mysteries I’ve read maybe second only to Inugami which is just weirder in the best ways. Made me have to go back to the map and list of characters even more than usual but really fun and great reveal.

Eludes concise description or rather anything I say will fail to describe its strange beauty. Seemingly simple narration that still carries a sense of foreboding that builds and dissipates mysteriously. Compulsively readable and slyly funny with a banger final section.

2026 reading log: Strong start thanks to vacation reading. The Christopher priest is excellent. Not a fan of the Nolan but the book is structurally incredible and so much about the act of writing down and diarizing that just can’t be captured in a film unless you’re Ruiz or sthin

Very honored! Will use this mention to recommend the work of Joe McCullough (or Jog). Very important voice in comics criticism that also dabbles in film. Always wish there was a Jog review for every film. boxd.it/39pPz

About that prompt: I always get a lot out of reading Lucky Star magazine as well as Brazilian blog Vestido sem Costura (and its counterpart magazine Madonna). Great work from Jhon Hernandez and Leticia Weber Jarek, respectively.

exhausted and a little unwell. so ofc am watching bbb for the millonth time and when bittoo has them turn on the lights at the first shaadi mubarak wedding, I still tear up. who'd have thought (least of all me), this movie would go from metaphor to reality for me in this way.

love a two week vacation where my brain is so convinced that it was a permanent move that every time I fall asleep, my dreams have me back on vacation.
