@groundworxdev @pootlepress Thanks - I already use those, but I think what the community, as well as me is resources on how to build client sites using FSE. A lot of the information out there doesn't necessarily work in a client situation.

The best way to learn is to use the default and newest theme it ships with. Twentytwentyfive in this case, it comes with everything that you need to understand how to make patterns, styles, configure theme.json, templates and template parts. It’s quite solid. I would suggest to start a new sandbox with brand new site with only that theme active, and use some of the patterns provided to fill one page. And then start changing theme.json to see how it works and affect things on your site. fullsiteediting.com by Carolina Nymark is fantastic. LearnWP (learn.wordpress.org) is underrated. And Gutenberg Times by Birgit Pauli-Haack is essential for keeping up with what's actually shipping. The sandbox method really is the best first step though.

I’ve been a bit worried that block themes are still too complex for the average WordPress user. Ollie is great, but it’s sitting at ~4,000 active installs, and the download pace feels modest (around ~200/day) compared with Kadence (around ~4,000/day). Is this a signal that “full site editing” still isn’t clicking for most people, or am I reading too much into theme stats? What’s your experience building with block themes, for you or for clients?

That is caused by the parent block. Some parent blocks will pass information to the child block causing some behavior change. It is also why it is critical to only use well engineered blocks, fully made to be supported with not only FSE but also theme.json. Sadly too many people also claim to have Gutenberg blocks but again they are not working with the framework that Wordpress has established. Let me know if you need help figuring things out. It’s absolutely worth it.

@pootlepress Another thing was one minute my image block has height and width controls, the next it doesn't? Also sometimes I can align (full/width) a block and sometimes I can't? I also get spacing between blocks that I cannot seem to remove. All very frsutrating.

@pootlepress My biggest issue at the moment was the in ability to choose a different footer pattern for my footer. We have patterns & templates parts which are confusing - how are they different. Also very hard to maintain consistency across the site.

Why is it that I have width and height controls on some image blocks but not others.

All I want to do today is create a row of logos on my homepage. Why is this so difficult with modern (and maybe even older) #WordPress?

@pootlepress I don't think my kids really know an awful lot about it tbh. What particularly about AI are they "railing" about?

@williamsba just watched the webinar "Preparing Your WordPress Agency for 2026" and enjoyed it. Thank you for your insights. 1 ❓ if I may. You are use Theme Switcher Pro with your clients. Do they pay you for a license? Or do you give them a license as part of your work?

Does anybody know anyone @lemonsqueezy support who can help with a billing issue? Their support via the website never gets back to me at all. I have had a ticket open for nearly a month with no action taken.

What does it take to get @lemonsqueezy to respond to your support emails? Tried emailing, tried DM'ing here and apart from a "sorry we are getting to it" response I have heard nothing for 15 days!
