This is not the America my father fought for.

City Council meeting in Hamtramck, MI Hard to believe that this is America

@SenWarren Punishment for success sounds like a wonderful strategy if you’re fucking retarded. This African American immigrant is the American dream made manifest and he’s leading the way to a future brighter than your feeble mind can comprehend. Resign.

@japan_nobunaga One thing America does better than anyone is logistics. Wait till you hear about the ice cream ships we had in the pacific theater. They didn’t deliver ice cream from America, they manufactured ice cream every hour of every day for years. Nobody can withstand American logistics.

USA. A Mexican restaurant. We had not yet ordered anything, and the food was already arriving.
Chips. Salsa. Unrequested. Free.
I stopped the waiter. "We have not earned these."
"They just come with the table, man."
They come with the TABLE. In my land, hospitality is a debt. Every gift creates an obligation, weighed carefully, returned in the proper season with interest of feeling. Here, the gift arrives before you have even proven you can pay for dinner.
This is not an appetizer. This is a declaration: we trust you. Eat.
I ate with the gravity the moment deserved. And then — I must report this calmly — the basket emptied, and a new one appeared.
"Did we…?"
"Refill," the waiter said. "It's bottomless."
Bottomless. They have wells of salsa. The supply lines of this nation are beyond anything my ancestors imagined.
My friend warned me. "Don't fill up on chips, dude."
Too late. I had accepted three baskets. Honor demanded each one be finished — an unfinished gift is an insult. By the time my actual food arrived, I was a ruined man.
I was not hungry. I was not comfortable. I had been defeated by a courtesy.
Generosity that arrives before the request cannot be repaid. It can only be survived.
I know the rule now. I have made my peace with the basket. One basket. Two at the most.
Who am I deceiving. There is no number of baskets I would refuse. The trust of a nation is in that salsa, and I intend to honor all of it.

@SophiaRose95749 To love America is to love President Trump. It takes about five seconds to know if someone is patriotic 🇺🇸

POV: first date and you're lowkey interrogating them to figure out if they're a Trump supporter This is literally how it goes now #Dating #Politics #FirstDate

@shaunvlog_ To make your baptism as an American complete, you must survive a 3am Waffle House brawl.

🚨 BELFAST: A DARKER PHASE MAY BE EMERGING
Warnings are reportedly being circulated in parts of Northern Ireland telling landlords not to house migrants or risk becoming targets themselves.
After the attacks, fires and destruction already witnessed in Belfast, the message being implied is difficult to miss.
Some property owners may now fear that accommodation associated with migrant housing could become the focus of further attacks.

🚨 FEAR HAS ENTERED THE MOSQUES OF BELFAST
Reports from Belfast suggest that some mosques have cancelled prayers and activities following three nights of unrest.
Some Muslim families are reportedly staying indoors, avoiding unnecessary travel and taking extra precautions amid fears that tensions could escalate further.
Workers are said to be changing routines.
Parents are reportedly keeping children closer to home.
Fear is no longer confined to the streets.
It is moving into homes, schools, communities and mosques.
There is currently no evidence of a nationwide response across Britain.
But communities far beyond Northern Ireland are watching events unfold closely.
Because after three consecutive nights of disorder, the question is no longer simply what happened in Belfast.
The question is what happens next.

@washghost1 They have to see America in person or they’ll never understand why we call them europoors.
