@zachblank @vidIQ Just upload the 4K file from your phone on the YT app. Then in studio where it shows the resolutions processing, itll show SD, HD and 4K. 😊
I'm doing this from an Android. If you're on iOS maybe it's not rolled out on that version of the app yet?

Don’t upload your Shorts from Desktop. Here’s why 👇
YouTube’s main mobile app is the only place where you can:
• Control the position of text overlays
• Manually choose the frame for your thumbnail
• Add Shopping Product Stickers
• Access Shorts-specific editing and effects tools
Uploading via desktop or Studio Mobile skips all this.

There needs to be a bigger marketplace for thumbnails and thumbnail designers. It’s an insanely demanded role but 1) there’s no central place to connect with designers and 2) in the total pool of designers, there are very few genuinely great people

@vixiostwt Hopefully this is true! It does seem to me that YouTube is trying to make awards cheaper/lamer since so many channels are hitting milestones off of shorts now
Also if you look at history, they've gotten significantly less cool throughout the years...

@zachblank This is an extra plaque you can purchase if you've reached a specific milestone, it's another one of the things that got teased on those leaflets like the Team Awards and Icons, NOT REPLACING

Looks like YouTube might be changing the diamond play button in 2025...
Sad day if it's true, especially after reports that they made the gold + silver plaques smaller. The current diamond button is one of my prized possessions.
