A young man was declared brain dead after a stroke. Doctors planned to withdraw life support after months, but his father begged for more time. When refused, the father brought a gun to the hospital and demanded they continue treatment. As police arrived and he prepared to surrender, he asked his son to squeeze his hand if he could hear him. The son surprisingly did. The father was sentenced to 11 months in prison for holding the hospital hostage. His son later said he was proud of him because without that act, he wouldn’t be alive.
