@VFOtaku What does bother me is the lack of growth in the unit because of their reliance on Toru. Yeah they can’t make great decisions, but that’s what I would’ve liked them attempt to change They can stay dysfunctional but I feel like they themselves should have gone to Hare in vol4

@VFOtaku My issue isn’t really that Toru exists, I understand Toru’s importance to Egoegg but what bothers me is that it’s mainly been just Toru on screen Toru can stay in full honesty, but there’s just a bit of a lack of balance between screentime and interactions that bother me🥲

@shiodomeraika I don’t mind Toru’s involvement I just wish it wasn’t so constant. Looking at other unit stories, there’s plenty of areas for growth that they took But with Egoegg it doesn’t feel like they grow as a unit because of relying on Toru… yk?

@1perplexed1 I mean, yeah they're clearly not well mentally, they can't make good decisions, they fight a lot but do we really need self insert to make them okay? Okay like, I get the concept but donuts clearly does it bad to the point people hate the unit simply because of Toru

@Gumi_li_li Toru is basically a support character for Egoegg, however they’re intended for us the audience to insert ourselves into them during the story and play as them in a way

Their concept was fine. But as a unit that came out around Abysschord’s introduction I think, this was pretty low budget for them Their outfits are plain, their story is too fanservice focused, and there’s barely any impactful interaction between the characters or just rushed

I want to make it clear that I don’t hate Ego. The characters and their backstories are wonderful, and it feels awful that it was a pretty wasted debut for them They were robbed of a good story because of this self insert and Toru bs, and I think they deserved more truthfully
