They expect us to believe that mediocre films from India are massive blockbusters overseas but then why aren’t the same teams getting consistent work?
Take Dangal, for example. It reportedly made around ₹1400 crore overseas, especially in China, post-demonetization. Yet after that, neither Aamir Khan nor Fatima Sana Shaikh has delivered a comparable success or built a sequel or similar large-scale project.
If such unprecedented success was truly organic, it should have translated into sustained momentum, repeat collaborations, and bigger follow-ups.
Instead, it raises questions: How does a film earn nearly three times its domestic business overseas and yet not create a lasting impact for its team?
The contrast becomes even sharper when compared to films like Baahubali, which built a long-term cultural and commercial legacy, not just numbers.
