Sauropsis longimana was a pachycormiform from the Late Jurassic of Germany. The first named genus of pachycormiform, Sauropsis was very poorly defined until it was redescribed in 2026 by Cooper and Maxwell. It is set apart from its relatives by an unusual double lateral line.

@Tupandactyl @JoschuaKnuppe It’s ironic that the pycnodont species all died at the end of the Cretaceous while the land mammals survived. Shame that every pycnodont is dead and no species survived after the Cretaceous

@EOpsych Also most people are not going to accept "rice and beans" for their standard of living. Yes, bare subsistence is cheap, but you're actually competing with the macronutrient profile of a diet which incorporates $2/lb pork at minimum.
