@timelysumeru the thing for me is people are getting mad over speculations. 6.1 was really bad and gimmicky sure but it was an event and this is an archon quest. i feel like instead of getting excited about potential collei lore and jeht return everyone is just doomposting about haikaveh

I have yet to see a reason as to why Alhaitham and Kaveh, characters who were created to be a pair, interacting with each other is a bad thing. The only thing it harms is other potential ship interactions, and I'm afraid those aren't imperative to anyone's character atm.

@venochocola youre so right this is genuinely how i feel reading most fics of him because on the surface yeah he deserves happiness... but realistically he's not going to get it unless he heals because he's the king of self-sabotage and cannot accept good things happening to him

kaveh is difficult to write. not because idk how to characterise him but he's such a beautiful character that nothing i write is good enough for him

@timelysumeru @moth_eclipse i think the official reason is that kaveh is "an interesting topic for study" and as we saw in the aq alhaitham is fine with uprooting his own life and meddling in other people's when he's particularly interested in something.

@timelysumeru @moth_eclipse i never said that alhaitham was doing this out of care for kaveh. alhaitham does not do things that he doesn't want. clearly he wanted kaveh to stay with him (for one reason or another) and he's willing to manipulate the situation for kaveh to accept his offer.

Letting Kaveh take the lion's share of the chores on top of paying rent was pretty uncool of Alhaitham. The mature thing to do was to have split the chores evenly from the start.

@moth_eclipse he needs to feel like the other person is also receiving some sort of benefit. i think alhaitham knew this and only suggested rent + chores because he knew kaveh would never accept his offer otherwise

@moth_eclipse i don't think it was unfair of him to be honest. kaveh refuses goodwill as a punishment for himself since he believes he isn't deserving of it. if he didn't believe alhaitham also recieved some benefit he would have refused to live with him and stayed homeless
