@4eva_optimist I didn't follow the whole renewal drama / Theo leaving drama and so I had no idea. I was completely shocked! However, as I've stated elsewhere, I watched the show for Charlotte so I was absolute game to see how she handled it. As we know, it just got better and better...

#SanditonCelebrationEvent #MySanditon Now we are on to E1 of #SanditonS2 and the introduction of new characters after the: plot twists and turns, ups and downs, and topsy turvy of life in a Regency seaside town with its secrets and lies and oh so Austenesque. Today's questions are: 1. What surprised you when S2, E1 opened on your screens? 2. How did the surprise make you feel? Personally speaking, it was a heart-in-mouth moment seeing Sidney Parker's funeral. It was dealt with sensitively, as was Charlotte's grief and decision to return to Sanditon; her joy quickly turning to shock at seeing Mary and being relayed the tragic news. Most poignant was that Austen herself understood the reality of such situations, having fallen in, and lost, love later in life. It was a unique albeit brief insight into her own frailty and loss which resulted in putting her pen down for 10yrs until she began writing #Sanditon. Charlotte recovers quickly...she is young and has much ahead of her. Austen recovered slowly, knowing perhaps that her time was running out. One wonders what she would have made of the novel had she lived to complete it. #ARCHES @s_sanditon 🎩👒🌊🐚🏆

I love that the first time we meet our heroine, she is shooting for her supper! We can tell she is not a typical regency woman from the very beginning. I also love her combination of naïveté and gusto -- a combination that sometimes gets her in trouble. #Sanditon

How lovely and fitting that it should end with words which perfectly describe @rose_williams_ and her character Charlotte Heywood in #Sanditon. So here we go: ZAFTIG: having a shapely, and full figure; voluptuous ZEALOUS: ardent, fervent, having or exhibiting strong enthusiasm or passion ZESTFUL: marked by spirited love of life or enjoyment; ebullient. ZOETIC: of or relating to life or living and vital The seaside town Charlotte left her Willingden home for was a bit of a ZOO, with numerous ZANY characters who wove their way into her heart. However, the one who stayed and made a life with her initially was awarded ZERO points in her estimation. Her employer ZANDER Colbourne had a choice to make when she invaded his ZONE. Happily, as with all Austen heroines and heroes, they made the right choices if stumbling through their ZIGZAG of a romance, and Charlotte won the heart of the ZADDY of #Sanditon . In fact they were both ZAPPED from the start but they had to prove their love for each other. Zander found his ZULEIKA : his fair, lovely, brilliant beauty in Charlotte and Rose played her brilliantly, too. And as the song goes: ZING went the strings of their hearts...and ours did, too.
