Going to post this every Sunday in the hopes that critics of the Catholic Church would at least be informed about what we do and don’t believe. In a typical Sunday Catholic Mass, we say the name of +Jesus 12 times, “Lord” 19 times, God 15 times, and phrases like “lamb of God” “Holy Spirit” “Father” or “Christ” another ≈20 times The congregation says the name of Mary TWICE, once in reference to her giving birth to Jesus, and once asking her and all the angels and saints (“and you, my brothers and sisters”) to pray for us (“pray for me to the Lord, our God”), unless her name is mentioned in the Gospel reading. The first half of Mass is about God’s word (Old Testament, Psalm, New Testament, and Gospel readings); the second half is entirely about Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross for our sake. The Mass is the pinnacle and purpose of Christian faith, and the Eucharist is the source and summit of life. There’s nothing more important in Christian practice.

It’s summer. It’s supposed to be hot. Winter will be cold. Some summers are hotter than others, some winters are colder. Thinking we have anything more than a marginal impact is juvenile. Look at which happens first: CO2 rises and then the planet warms, or the planet warms and then CO2 rises.

Believe it or not, this is a real lake in Nova Scotia, Canada. The lake itself was formed about 12,000 years ago, when glaciers from the last Ice Age retreated and left behind depressions that gradually filled with meltwater. Its unusual name was officially approved by the Nova Scotia government on March 5, 1953. However, its true origin remains a mystery. No historical records explain why it was chosen, and it has never been linked to a specific person or event. The Canadian Geographical Names Board simply lists the name’s origin as “undetermined.” Although the name is a mystery, the surrounding area has a much longer history. The region has been home to the Mi’kmaq for thousands of years and later became part of Nova Scotia’s 19th-century gold rush. Nearby Moose River Gold Mines boomed beginning in the 1860s and gained international attention after the 1936 Moose River Mine Disaster, when three miners were trapped underground for 11 days before being dramatically rescued.

Climate change is real. No one can deny that with any serious credibility. Thinking we are the ones responsible for it is the laughable thing. The Earth will be fine. It was chaotic for BILLIONS OF YEARS before we got here. It will be fine. Kinda like how the BP oil spill was supposed to destroy the ecosystem…and then didn’t. The Earth handled it.

Also that things we do effect the climate in a negative way but I still think this has been happening since the creation of mankind regardless.

🚨 BREAKING: RBFA say they are "astonished" Flo Balogun can play against them and "investigating all potential options". "The Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA) is astonished by FIFA's decision to declare suspended United States player Folarin Balogun eligible to play in the USA–Belgium match on Monday, 6 July at 5:00 p.m. (Seattle time). "FIFA bases its decision on Article 27 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code. This provision states that the FIFA Disciplinary Committee may decide to suspend the enforcement of a previously imposed disciplinary sanction. "However, Article 66.4 of the same FIFA Disciplinary Code clearly provides that a red card (sending-off) automatically results in a suspension for the team's next match, as has been the case for all previous red cards issued during this FIFA World Cup. "Furthermore, and irrespective of the above, the decision is in direct contradiction with the provisions of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Competition Regulations, as set out in Article 10.5: "If a player or team official is sent off as a result of a direct or indirect red card (second caution), they will automatically be suspended from their team's subsequent match. In addition, further sanctions may be imposed." "The automatic nature of such a suspension was also explicitly reaffirmed in FIFA World Cup 2026 Circular No. 16, which was distributed to all participating member associations on 12 May 2026.
