@Jon_RosenthalTX@jmontforttx Thank you for going out there and bringing this to people's attention.
Ever since I went and looked at it first hand, it has become one of the most important issues I consider when voting for someone.
Wow. The Pope was just asked his stance on migration. His answer is amazing:
“I would change the question: what is the global North doing to help the global South in its situation that forces them to migrate.”
@neenareports Simple. Have trumpy find a river or lake anywhere within 300 miles north of the city and turn the faucet on. It’ll all flow down to CC. Cuz that’s how science works. Just like he did in California.
@neenareports Between the electrical grid failing a few years back and now this maybe Texans should start voting for their best interests and stop voting for Republicans. Think of all of our tax dollars being spent on Trump’s ballroom, Israel, and a war in Iran. When Texans need water. Shame.
@neenareports@TimGuinee I live in Corpus Christi- city and state officials have known about this for at least ten years. Political/Business Leaders oversold the area for industrial development without a clear plan for dealing with the water crisis we’re now facing.
@neenareports Cities & states across the country in arid regions, as well as in hurricane & wildfire zones, have allowed uncontrolled growth. You would think Hurricane Katrina & California wildfires would have been a wake up call, but apparently not.
@neenareports How many AI Data centers are built around Corpus Christi?
Follow the water table... this is where our water's going, PLUS the Climate Crisis.
WE MUST STOP AI CENTERS THAT'RE PLANNED ON BEING BUILT AROUND OUR COUNTRY!
@neenareports love how the solution is not to shut down plastics plants using 13 million gallons a day but to tell all the residents to stop watering their lawns and taking their kids to the public pool lol
“It’s not going to be pretty everyone is going to have to make sacrifices.”
The fact is if the city Council hadn’t dithered for the last decade, kicking this problem down the road, the city wouldn’t be facing this issue.
The real crisis in Corpus Christi is a crisis of leadership.
@neenareports It's okay. Trump and his MAGA allies in Texas say climate change and global warming are not happening. Fasting and praying may also help.
@neenareports Self-inflicted.
In 2017, Corpus Christi was already dealing with water shortages. Yet it decided to give - for free - 20 MILLION GALLONS a day to both @exxonmobil and @SABIC_Americas. Today, nearly80% of CC water goes to industry, mostly petrochemical.
And the people suffer.
@neenareports Every problem that exists in the state of Texas is a direct result of corrupt, incompetent Republicans & the stupid people who voted for their own demise.
@neenareports And all across Texas, local and state politicians are selling out to big tech data centers that use enormous amounts of water. Idiots. EVERY last one of them.
