What is soil made of? Finches found soil samples from different areas around school. They mixed the soil with water and gave the bottle a good shake. They made careful observations 🪱 🍃
Finches loved their visit from the Fun Food Chef! They were involved in a workshop for Eid, that involved food preparation and tasting. We definitely have some future chefs, as the food was delicious! 🥣
As an introduction to our new English key text, we took a trip to forest school. The children found hidden clues, and enjoyed a small snack, which features in the new story. Following this, they made predictions about the book🥚
Last week, we spent a lot of time understanding our new school values and how to put them into practise. In small groups, the children prepared a presentation that they delivered in front of the whole class ❤️
Bourbon Stonehenge! Finches loved this activity, that helped them learn about the construction of Stonehenge. They were super surprised that this was built during prehistoric times! 🪨
After lunch on Thursday, the children were wondering what the perimeter of our playground is. What better way to find out, than to go and measure it! Finches showed excellent collaboration. They also enjoyed doing a lap afterwards 📏

Who can you trust? Finches proved they were trustworthy by guiding their blindfolded partner to the playground. This was part of our RE lesson. We also looked at the importance of trust in Christianity ☺️
Finches learned about linked levers during DT week, and their final pieces are amazing! They created foldable safety barriers. The process included measuring, cutting, joining and hammering. What a great week. Well done! 🔨🔩
We have been comparing Eastern and Western European countries in Geography. We turned the Year 4 classrooms into Poland and France. We compared the culture by trying tasty snacks, listening to traditional music, and greeting each other in the language. Finches became France 🇫🇷
