It’s hard to remember Jayson Tatum inured his achilles just 11 MONTHS AGO with the way he’s been playing as of late. In 3 games in this series thus far vs the Celtics, Tatum is averaging 23 points, and 7.7 assists, over in 2/3 games with 32, 28, and 31 p/a. With his ability to exploit matchups like Maxey & Drummond, and Philly having constant help, Tatum has slowed down and read the game, creating easy looks for his teammates especially in half court sets. The 76ers don’t really have a matchup for Tatum, as he’s taking advantage of every pick & roll, and making the right play, having a good balance between attacking the basket and kicking it out. Both teams did turn the ball over a bit during the regular season, and the 76ers are currently 3rd in turnovers per game amongst the playoff teams, so there should be a numerous amount of assists on the break. We saw Tatum put together some big games in 4 matchups vs 76ers last season, averaging 29.3 points, and 6.8 assists, over 29.5 PRA in 3/4 matchups.

Jarrett Allen is still working his way back that right knee tendonitis, as it caused him to miss 11 games in March, 3 in April. When entering the postseason, Allen stated he didn’t expect to return to full health during the playoffs, along with there being some lingering pain. This has limited Allen’s lateral mobility and explosive movement. With the Raptors utilizing the small ball more often, Allen hasn’t seen much playing time. In 3 games so far this series, Allen is averaging 10.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 0.7 assists which totals out to just 16.1 PRA, as Allen is under 21.5 PRA in 3/3 games with 17, 14, and 17 PRA. During the regular season, the Cavs & Raptors both sat top 10 in turnovers per game, along with Toronto allowing around the 10th lowest shooting % from the field to opponents. Trend should continue of Allen going under as Mitchell looks to have a huge bounce back game.

Donte Divincenzo is off to a hot start from 3 in this series, shooting 4/7 from 3 in game 1, 4/7 in game 2, and 3/8 in game 3, which averages out to 3.7 3’s made so far in the series. Nuggets being turnover prone not only during the playoffs but in the regular season as well, has given Donte great looks from 3 in transition. With Edwards / Randle commanding the attention from all 5 nuggets, Donte benefits, along with Donte catch & shoot off a Rudy Gobert screen, as we know Jokic doesn’t want to be up at the 3 defending. During the regular season, the Wolves were top 10 in shooting % from 3, and they remain in the top 10 during the playoffs. In the 4 matchups during the regular season vs the Nuggets, Donte shot 3/8, 1/6, 0/7, and 5/10 from 3, so we know the quantity of shots will be there, they just go to go in.

We’re running it back with Anunoby who has been consistent in this series but now we’re running his rebounds, as he’s crashed the glass all series long. In 3 games so far in the series, Anunoby is averaging 8.3 rebounds, with 8, 8, and 9 rebounds. Considering Anunoby’s matchup is primarily Jalen Johnson, Anunoby is pretty close to the basket a majority of the game. ATL simply can’t match the Knicks size, as the Hawks were bottom 12th in rebounds per game during the regular season, while the Knicks were top 10, s as c morning has changed as ATL is bottom 4th in rebounds during the playoffs, while NYK sit top 5. Anunoby had the same success vs the Hawks during the regular season, as he averaged 8.3 rebounds in 3 matchups with 10, 10, and 5 rebounds. With Anunoby being able to switch on Jalen + Onyeka, and be used as a rim protector, OG should dominate the glass once again.

Jrue has been displaying his facilitating skills & dishing the rock thus-far in the series. Through games 1 & 2, Jrue has averaged 10 assists with 11 in game 1 and 9 assists in game 2. Blazers clearly benefit when they push the pace and run, and that’s exactly what Jrue has done as in game 2, 5 of Jrue’s 9 assist came from Scoot ( 3 assists ), Sharpe ( 1 ), and Camara ( 1 ) which were all in transition. With Wemby off the floor, Jrue has utilized Robert Williams in the lob game, and Scoot has hit multiple big shots. During the regular season, Jrue Holiday averaged 6.1 assists, while in 1 matchup vs the Spurs this season, Holiday dished out 6 assists in 31 minutes of action, but obviously he’ll see more than 31 minutes tonight. During the regular season the Spurs committed around the 5th most turnovers per game, which is why Portland is able to get out and score on the break.
