Introducing Word of the Day to Y3 by reading ‘The Word Collector’, followed by a word treasure hunt around school wearing ninja masks. Brilliantly bonkers 🌟🙌🏻🤪 @VocabularyNinja #vocabulary

So far, Y4 have read Llama Out Loud, Krindlecrax and Varjak Paw. We have When The Mountains Roared lined up for summer. Which two books would you add to our lineup? A few ideas below but any suggestions would be amazing 🤩 @Misterbodd @MrBoothY6 @Teacherglitter @sam_creighton

@Misterbodd All very good points. It’s a hard to ignore so many amazing reviews from teachers who’ve shared it with their classes!

@ALevell89 It brings something different though. Read aloud shouldn't always be funny or adventurous. So many kids wouldn't pick it up and read it but it hits hard and they love it

@sam_creighton Love the idea of reading some non-fiction aloud! Thanks for these suggestions 👍🏻 I’d not come across The Imaginary before but I’m intrigued to see what a class would make of it!

@Teacherglitter I know ours would love Grimwood too! I’d not considered Narnia but that’s definitely another to go into the mix 👍🏻 thank you!

@ALevell89 @Misterbodd @MrBoothY6 @sam_creighton Mine have ADORED the last bear and Narnia. We’ve just finished Narnia and they spontaneously clapped at the end. I am going to read Grimwood next as my class howled laughing at it last year.

@Misterbodd Everyone raves about Edward Tulane! I thought it was incredibly powerful but always worry it’ll be a sad read-aloud so I’m torn…

Any book recommendations for an able Y6 boy who is switching off from reading? He loves the Alex Rider series. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! @melissacreate15 @jonnybid @MrBoothY6 @Misterbodd

Currently reading the story ‘The Wild Robot’ to my class. Bit of a slow start. Does it get better? I’ve not read it before reading it to them. Reading after a couple of other teachers’ recommendations

What an absolute gem of a book! ‘Books Aren’t For Eating’ by @carliesorosiak and illustrated by Manu Montoya is perfect for highlighting the power of a good book recommendation 🌟 I’m hoping to use it with staff as well as our pupils! 📖🐐
