Did you know that, in the aftermath of the 1918 flu pandemic, deaths from cardiovascular diseases soared and continued to rise for over 40 years? From 1960 onwards, deaths from heart disease steadily declined as the younger age groups infected during the pandemic gradually died.

We've been warning people about this for years and we're not even scientists. We're just people who understood that you don't want to get a disease we don't know what it does to you

Women are out here sharing live locations, checking the backseats of cars, and holding their hands over their drinks. Men are doing 3 hour podcasts about how unfair it is that we don't smile at them. The disconnect is fatal.

Is there anything more sad and unprofessional than doctors going online to bash patients. You think you're right but all you're doing is showing that you have zero awareness of how being educated + working in a system with many systemic issues has influenced your bias.

Imagine a doctor refusing to diagnose you with a condition for which you have the symptoms, because the doctor believes the condition is rare, and therefore there's an imaginary quota on how many people are allowed be diagnosed with that, and you're not one of those people.
