@Rajio Thanks. Facinating article, didn't know about the demoscene back then but makes sense that they were ripping off fantasy artists for quick demo art.

Question for the old heads here. Was the 'fantasy' scene in the 70s and 80s hornier than it is now or about the same? A lot of the fantasy art I've seen of that time is horny AF and not subtle about it. Its not subtext. Its domtext.

@AcmeJetpack thats so non-horny-based that A: its hard to beleive its frazetta (except the style is so him, otherwise!) and B: it makes me suspicious that its secretly horny and I'm just not seeing it lol.

@Rajio The erotic fantasy stuff grew a bit out of the popularity of some artists but there was non erotic art too from artists such as Michael Whelan, The Brothers Hildebrant and John Howe. Even D&D art could be included. That could be the middle ground. Yeah that was the Conan brand

@AcmeJetpack yeah i mostly am aware through book covers and things like that. my hunch is that 'high fantasy' stuff back then was either super horny, or like 100% for kids (like zelda type stuff) and no inbetween. Even remembering the Conan movies for example - just so overt!

Hard to describe the feeling today. Seeing people enjoying #JediSurvivor is just incredible. Really at a loss for words. Just so happy for our team. They're some of the kindest, most talented devs I've had the pleasure of working with. They really deserve it.

@Rajio They do apparantly, IKS (Imperial Klingon Ship) Bortas is one example. Many more names were introduced in DS9.

Can someone explain to me why every Federation ship in Star trek seems to be custom designed as a 1-of-a-kind construction? That seems so much less efficient than making multiple builds off of the same plans, like with any other construction. Where is the standardization?!
