The National Library has the largest publicly available collection of newspapers in #Uganda. Our newspaper collection dates back to pre-independence and is available for reference.

Fellow Ugandans,
It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of our dear sister and comrade, Edith Katende Mufumbiro, the wife of our Deputy Spokesperson, Alex Waiswa Mufumbiro.
Edith passed on after 3:00am today following a hard-fought battle with cancer. At the time of her passing, her dear husband Waiswa remains detained at Luzira Upper Prison for no crime whatsoever. His only crime is speaking out against injustice and misrule.
The criminal regime placed on him and others the sham charge of "Unlawful Drilling" which apparently took place on 12th February 2025 at our Party Headquarters. In fact, on that day, Waiswa never stepped there as he was at Mulago Cancer Institute with the wife! The judiciary, fully aware of these facts, has chosen to conspire in this persecution.
Waiswa, alongside other comrades, has applied for bail severally. He has variously made an impassioned plea to the Court to be released on bail so that he takes care of his sick wife, but it has been denied. The injustice!
As difficult as it is, we remain hopeful that we shall overcome some day. May God grant the family, especially our brother Waiswa, the strength he needs at this time.

Former Prime Minister Dr. Milton Obote visiting Ntare School in 1965 for the school’s 10th anniversary. When you inspect the scouts parade well, you can see @aroriza.

No matter what you say, no matter what side you take, one thing is absolutely clear to me:
Iran is, by far, one of the most daring countries in the world right now.
It is standing against the United States, a nation with the most advanced military power.
It is facing Israel, again one of the strongest and most technologically superior forces.
It is dealing with pressures across the Middle East… and doing all of this without direct backing from China or Russia.
Even after massive strikes, leadership losses, and continuous attacks, Iran is still standing, still responding, still refusing to bow down.
And honestly, I don’t remember the last 20 years where any country showed this level of sheer courage and defiance.
Say whatever you want about outcomes, politics, or consequences… but one thing is certain in my eyes:
Iran has shown a level of boldness that very few nations would even dare to attempt.
And no matter how this ends, history will remember Iran as a country that had the courage to stand its ground when almost no one else would.

People don't seem to understand what is happening.
Iran has decided that it will control the straits of hormuz for the indefinite future. That means, we, global energy consumers, will be paying an additional energy tax, since it will take years if not decades for Iran to repair & reconstruct the civilian infrastructure being destroyed.
We are going to pay to rebuild Iran, not Iran. It's strange that people don't understand this.

Interesting how wars are named after the country attacked: Vietnam War, Iraq War, Afghanistan War, Iran War... That's because if they were named after the attacker, it would be too confusing, since 80% of conflicts would be called the US war.

So now the terrorist mullah regime is suddenly proud of Iran’s history?
Isn’t this the same regime that criticized the Shah for celebrating Cyrus the Great?
Didn’t Sadegh Khalkhali insult Cyrus and even attempt to destroy his tomb?
Isn’t this the same regime that prevents people from gathering at Pasargadae on the 7th of Aban (Cyrus the Great Day)?
The same regime that erased Iran’s royal legacy from public memory?
That only tolerated one name like Karim Khan Zand while sidelining the rest?
That even restricted baby names linked to pre-Islamic Iran?
And now they suddenly claim pride in “6,000 years of civilization”?
Full of shit.
