It would also unbelievably encourage people to cheat, if they never have to prove themselves on LAN to get to pro events then people would definitely attempt to get away with anything they could.

I’ve not heard this that much but it wouldn’t surprise me entirely if it was true.
It would completely kill the scene if they went ahead with it.
LAN is the only true way to prove your ability, online results are completely farcical just host wars and how good your PC is.

Keep hearing the same rumour regarding Challengers structure next season We’ve been told by multiple people allegedly theres internal discussions this month to move Challengers next season to a fully online entity due to Opens operating in the red This could also be down to proposed changes in the pro league, more teams and online play in opportunities each event etc

@BrandoGBZ On this game for sure. I’ve seen much worse. I was going through straight depression in mw3 trying to stream everyday with cheaters spinbotting through walls nearly every game.
