🇺🇲🇮🇷 Donald Trump plans to rename the Strait of Hormuz in honor of America or even in his own honor - after he ousts Iran from there, - New York Post.
At present, the US president is prioritizing establishing control over the strait, as he is disappointed by the lack of assistance from NATO allies in ensuring the safety of shipping, the publication notes.
It is expected that after Trump "puts an end to Iran's terror regime over this route", he will consider renaming it "Strait of America" or naming it in his own honor, NUP sources reported.
"We are taking back the strait. It's guaranteed, and they will no longer be able to blackmail us," - said one of the high-ranking administration officials.
According to the source, despite statements that Iran is weakened and ready for a deal, Trump intends to bring the situation in the Middle East to a conclusion - including ensuring that Tehran can no longer hinder shipping and claim control over the strait.
"He really believes that if we are going to protect it and ensure free shipping, then why should it be called the Strait of Hormuz?" - noted the official.
At the investment forum, Trump also suggested that the strait could be named after him: "They will have to open the Trump Strait - I mean Hormuz," he said.
A White House representative stressed that the renaming "is not real yet", and another official called the idea "interesting", but not in the implementation stage.

❗️🇮🇱🇮🇷 For the first time since the start of the war, Yemen’s Houthi forces launched a ballistic missile toward Israel — the missile was successfully intercepted.
This suggests the Houthis may be entering the conflict on Iran’s side, raising the likelihood of attempts to block the strategically vital Bab el-Mandeb Strait in the Red Sea.
