@Emzyl_ City won everything. Which means more money. We have spent as much as them in the last 5 years and have nothing. Pep with the Arsenal squad wins something in the last 5 years, Arteta doesn't win as much with City. Simple. Pep is a genius, you cannot fluke his CV.

Last year, Saka, Gabriel Jesus, Havertz were out and we couldn't do fuck in the transfer market, we had to find internal solutions. In 22/23 if we had 80m to sign Caicedo in January, we probably win the league, this Jan we didn't do anything. City in the last two January window have spent half a billion, they just don't have these financial constraints others have
Emzel@Emzyl_

They're going to call him the greatest manager ever, when he literally cheats to win titles. It's rigging the game. He went on to sign the second best forward in the league in January and one of the top CB in the league when no one else can afford it, but now he's getting praised

@JamB360jam @TheArsenalFan1w @LeGrove We are addicts that is why. reading legrove is something I have done for 16+ years. Seeing Pedro turn to an AKB is one of the most mind-blowing things in that period. Pedro writes well and very good but he placed all his chips on Arteta and became less objective. Sad

The reality is Arsenal does not have the squad depth to fight on 4 fronts. The ghost of seasons past has threatened our campaign already with near miss injuries to big players. Arteta made a very specific choice today that CL and PL were the fronts he wanted to fight on... and he knows if he beasts his best players and they break, it's over for him again. I make him right. Criticise the back-ups, but don't lose faith in the team with the best UCL league record who sit top of the Prem with most goals and best defence. Declan, Timber, Zubi, Calafiori, Hincapie, Gyokeres, Saka, Saliba, and Raya make a difference. All to play for. Today was bad, but our core was missing. If they're back for CL, we're gonna take both the remaining comps to the wire.

A squad that gets paid £360m a year should be able to put on a better show than that in an FA Cup quarter final against a Championship side. Some real complacent performances. But also not the focus. Champions League and Premier League is all that has ever mattered this season.

@LeGrove Arteta is not a great manager. He drives the narrative that Arteta is a managed that struggles and has 1 trophy after spending a billion pounds on players

Worst part about this performance is it feeds the narrative that Arteta is a great manager who struggles to get it over the line... FA Cup draw was a gift and we blew it in shocking circumstances. Less games, the only bonus. But what about confidence?

Don't care if we win the league Arteta still needs to be sacked, the football is too diabolical to pretend 1 title and 0 cups in 6 years after spending £1 billion makes it all worth it

@Emzyl_ When I see these comments i laugh. Where realistically should Villa be in the league with their squad? 4 years ago fighting relegation, now playing in Europe consistently and in top 4 at game 30. Villa is here causeof Emery. 3 years of Europe and top 5, with this squad is insane.

It's just Emery, difference between run in Emery and first half of the season Emery is luck, underlying metrics all season shown Villa were a relegation team, they just get bailed out by individual quality, they're not good coached team at all

How do you get out of financial and economic doldrums? I was reading this week about Uber CEO Dara's daily routine, and something hit me. He got Uber out of a slump by optimizing his lifestyle to do as much as possible to make this happen. A lot of us would be in a financial slump, but instead of optimizing everything we have to get out of it, we either give excuses and distract ourselves or pray for miracles and helpers. The first thing to ask yourself when you are in financial doldrums is whether you are healthy and functional. If you are healthy and functional, getting out becomes exponentially easier than you think. The worst place to be is broke and in poor health. Once you have your health, check your relationships and friendships. Be brutally honest with those close to you about your situation and ask for advice on how to get out, rather than loans or handouts. The advice may also come with financial help to dig you out of the hole if you are lucky. If you are unlucky, you will have a friend who stays at your house where you are broke and have no food, but goes out to buy a Pizza to eat, then comes back to you with one slice. This really happened to me. Avoid friends who arent useful. The most important assets you have are your health, your sanity, and your skills. Don't start forcing yourself to learn new skills when you are desperate. Leverage your existing advantages first to achieve a basic level of stability before acquiring new ones. I once was so broke that I started writing articles to make money to survive. A lot of clients owed me, and there were bills to pay from the little I had already made. I was left with nothing after the bills were settled. I decided to use what I had to get more, and nothing was too little. A hundred dollars a week when you are broke does wonders. The trick is not to get stuck in survival mode. The biggest problem when coming out of financial doldrums is the comfort zone. People adapt too easily to survival mode, and they no longer lack the will to push further and beyond. You need motivation and reminders, something to look forward to. I keep picturing my kids in expensive schools I paid for, and doing very well in life afterwards. It is not about my comfort but theirs; my early comfort today will deny them of theirs tomorrow. Community is the most underrated wealth hack. A lot of people believe this trope of locking in and locking everyone out when the real thing you should do is to "Lock on" to your community. To get out of the doldrums, you need to lock on to a community that will get you out of it and even provide volunteer services to those who need it when necessary. I have seen young people come to me with sob stories of how they are in despair, and I ask them what they can do for me, and they are lost. I have even given a few of them opportunities where they could not perform up to par. You also have to be honest with yourself about your capabilities and skills. I was so annoyed by that young lady who was telling people to fake customers yesterday, because there are so many people available to help that you wouldn't need to fake anything. People pay me for consultation via @Calendly to help them today because I have volunteered and still volunteer to help a lot of people for free. Doing that has helped me develop the skill of discernment and build a community I can leverage to help others. Most of the help I give people who book to speak with me is direction and connections with those who can help them further. In summary, if you are well and alive, then get moving. Don't succumb to self-pity, and nothing is too small for you to make. Someone once paid me $50 at the right time, and it changed a lot of things for me. Optimize and grow from what you have and stop fantasizing about what you don't have yet, while still keeping a goal on the horizon. Prayers work, but you also have to realize that good health and a sound mind is the answer to many prayers already.

I implore everyone to read “The Art of Spending Money” by @morganhousel. There are things about myself I didn't realize until I read it. The gap between what makes you happy and what you have is important. The happiest people don't need more than they already have to be happier.

When you meet a contended happy person, you will admire and want what they have, but the confusing part is you can't point to one materialistic thing they have that fuels their happiness. That's how you know that life is more complex than money.

While the original intent was to mock the religious, it is hilariously true: most people jump into prayer as a response to adversity, not as a form of communication with the divine. There are many things we don't understand, and I am always amazed by people who claim to know with certainty. I don't know how or why prayer works, but I know why it doesn't work when it doesn't. All the prayers I prayed when I was at my most helpless were answered. ALL! Why? I don't know. All I know is that most answers to genuine prayers don't take the form of immediate miracles or transformation, especially when there is a lesson to learn from your current circumstance. I sometimes start thanking God years later after I get insight into an answered prayer that I had forgotten. I used to bargain with God when I was much younger, making deals like “give me a car, and I will go to church every weekend.” I got two cars that year, and when I didn't keep my bargain, I lost them. I had to work harder to get them back and learned never to break my vows. I also no longer make careless vows in prayer. Prayer is an act of surrender to powers you don't know or understand, but that shape your existence. It is not about fixing what is wrong, but about accepting all outcomes and understanding that all probabilities are possible. We pray against adverse outcomes but also learn to act to avoid them. Prayer is also a pure analysis of your situation, and the divine answer is always the truth. “The truth shall set you free” wasn't just empty words. It is in words that they become action, consciously and subconsciously. Prayer is the recognition of the truth and action towards it. Bad people also pray bad prayers, and a villain is just a hero of the other side. Prayer is, therefore, a battle of wills and willpower. The truth always prevails.
Saganism@Saganismm

“The man who prays is the one who thinks that god has arranged matters all wrong, but who also thinks that he can instruct god how to put them right.” — Christopher Hitchens
