It’s exhausting seeing people exiting the MAGA cult act like ‘Trump changed’ and ‘something happened to him’—as if he wasn’t always a corrupted, war-mongering authoritarian. In his FIRST term, he: -appointed numerous lobbyists -appointed defense industry insiders to the Pentagon -presided over the EPA’s continued designation that glyphosate poses “no risk to human health” (at which time the agency was under the leadership of a lobbyist he appointed) -carried out more drone strikes than even drone king Obama and presided over increased civilian deaths -charged Julian Assange over disclosures about American brutality in the “war on terror” -reauthorized FISA section 702 surveillance (after complaining about it) -added trillions to the debt -was subservient to Israel This was all readily available information for anyone who sought it out. I’m glad some people are leaving the cult, but it would be great if they could *actually* “do their own research” before falling for politicians’ rhetoric in the future.
