The case of the humpback whale “Hope” (also known as “Timmy”) in Germany just seems very strange to me.
It’s hard to believe that suddenly there are supposedly no resources or options available to help, while other organizations around the world manage to rescue whales even under far more difficult conditions.
And there are people who would be willing to pay, who have plans, and who know how such a rescue could work. So what exactly are they waiting for? A single decision from the very top? And if so, who is it and why is it taking so long? But all that’s happening is talking and endless discussion, as if there are people who wanted to waste time.
We’re talking about an animal that has been fighting for weeks. How long has it been now 5 to 6 weeks maybe? A whale that is clearly still holding on, and yet nothing decisive seems to happen except observation, almost like a public zoo situation in Germany.
To me, none of this seems logical. It feels more like a standstill that is hard to justify.
Habe gedacht Deutschland hätte immer Germoney dabei....der Wal heißt glaube ich nicht umsonst Hope. Der lebt ja immer noch? Muss wohl doch eine Hoffnung sein.
