Private government contractors = capitalist mode of production. Every single material that must be purchased for construction = market based capitalism. Any transaction for goods or equipment required for operations from a publicly traded company = shareholder capitalism. That 30m is a byproduct of unfettered capital accumulation, not communism. Do you always have a problem with the state doing business with the capitalist ruling class or just when subjugated members of the working class will benefit?

My brother-in-law owns two supermarkets in NYC. He suggested this is close to 10x what it would cost him to get a new supermarket off the ground, which wouldn’t take him anywhere near as long to do, either.

Yall always seem to lose your minds over the realized cost to build utilities for the poor. Same thing happened with the 2m public bathroom for unhoused folks in SF. If you want to be mad, I suggest being mad at municipal governments’ neoliberal framework and subsequent reliance on private contractors for production who milk these public private partnerships for all they’re worth.

Look I could pencil out a pro forma and give you a break down of hard and soft development costs ranging between 18-20 million and 8-10 million respectively, include everything from materials and prevailing wages, to regulatory obligations like those LEED requirements and try to explain why 3-5 million might be set aside for additional overhead but I think I’ll cut my losses.

@Rafa_Mangual @MattLech Yea true I was taking averages..that’s my bad. But 9k retail space in the part of Harlem that’s within spitting distance of some of the most expensive real estate in Manhattan can’t be cheap.

@Rafa_Mangual @MattLech Hey guy w a dick sized cigar in his mouth, I ran some numbers. Average size of a grocery store is 38k sq ft. Average price per sq ft for commercial property in NYC is ~500, so the cost to rent the building for a grocery store alone is around $20m per year.

Theres actually a scientific explanation for this. Abuse, regardless of the type (physical, emotional etc) causes an overactive amygdala, the part of the brain responsible for processing emotions, that directly impairs the prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain responsible for decision making. Lucy is not thinking clearly because of the abuse she’s experienced from Stephen. Also, let’s be honest, Lucy lying about Chris was her fuck ass attempt to hold him accountable for sexually assaulting multiple women. In other words, she wouldn’t have been provoked to co-opt Pippas experience if Chris hadn’t assaulted Pippa in the first place.

@AmyeC3 Lucy literally lied and said she was assaulted by Chris. And because she lied he confronted her and she exposed that he hurt pipp. Lucy is a grown woman not a baby. Steven did abuse her and cause her harm but she made those choices. Stephen didn’t make her do any of those things.

Lucy was already traumatized by her mom for sure but nearly all of her college mishaps thus far stem from Stephen’s decision to drive macys car drunk, nearly hit wrigleys brother from not paying attention to the road as one of the flashbacks revealed he was giving Macy the narcissistic stare when she confronts him for being a bad person, causing him to wreck, move her dead ass body to the drivers seat, and flee the scene. Another thing is Lucy clearly shows remorse for making poor decisions. Stephen ruins people’s lives like it’s nothing.
