Danny Boyle's 'Trainspotting' was released 30 years ago today. The opening "Choose Life" monologue, with Renton sprinting through the streets of Edinburgh while introducing the rest of the characters, is one of the most iconic intros in 90s cinema.

Over 30 years ago. One of the great/awful nights. A fight that lives forever in the hearts and minds of everybody who was witness.

The original pub on this site was The Station Hotel and was demolished in 1975 to be replaced with the current / modern building. Colour photo is 1 year before demolition

Unlike Alma went Metro Bar fair few times in early 2000s, closed after a tragic incident and authorities were waging to get it demolished for a while. Great to see it back open, owned by the excellent towncentreinns.com & under a former name The Iron Horse 🍻🍻 #DA15
