Arsenal is leading the title race, they have just made back to back semi finals for the first time in history, and all you care about is the style of history? Do you see anyone mentioning Chelsea had only about 30% in the final against Bayern Munich? Or that they suffered against Barcalona? He’s about to take Arsenal to a level they haven’t been in 20 years or in Europe in history? You shouldn’t care about how pragmatic his approach is, it’s winning that matters If Arteta gets this team over the line…..league, Europe, or both no one is going to care if it was 65% possession or 35%. The only question people will ask in 10 years is: Did they win? Because once you cross that line, the narrative changes. What is being called “pragmatic” today becomes “mature,” “disciplined,” and “champion mentality.” And if he actually takes Arsenal back to the top of Europe something they’ve never achieved then this entire conversation disappears that same night.

For three seasons, I was heavily critical of Arteta, you can go back and see it in my tweets. I genuinely believed he was the main reason we weren’t winning trophies. This season, though, I won’t single him out. Too many big players have fallen short when it mattered most, when they were needed to step up and take control of key moments. Great players elevate good managers into elite ones. Great managers elevate good players into world-class ones. But to truly dominate, you need both. I think Mikel has more than played his part this season. His identity and approach, maybe not always pretty but clear, have taken us to a Carabao final, an FA Cup quarter-final, one foot in the CL semi-finals, and top of the league. Now it’s on the players to rise, show bravery, deliver quality in decisive moments, and turn this into something special. The opportunity to win the league and the CL is right there. This isn’t just on Arteta. It’s on the players, too.

Arsenal fans are probably the most patient fans in Europe. Go and look at all the big teams in every single league around the globe and tell me which one of them has failed to win a title or a European trophy in the last 22 years.
