A previously healthy 37-year-old man presented with persistent nasal cellulitis unresponsive to antibiotics. After incision, drainage, and persistent antibiotic treatment, his condition worsened. Nasal biopsy revealed extranodal natural killer/T-cell lymphoma, nasal type (ENKTCL-NT), a rare and aggressive non-Hodgkin lymphoma whose presentation can be subtle and easily mistaken for more common conditions. A case report describes chronic eosinophilic pneumonia (CEP), also known as Carrington disease, as the initial manifestation of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in a 28-year-old woman. While the cause of CEP in RA is unclear, this case highlights the need to consider CEP in RA in patients presenting with recurrent pneumonia-like symptoms with a history of or ongoing joint symptoms. bit.ly/4eCYtNc @AHAScience #AHAJournals

A patient with smoldering multiple myeloma developed progressive corneal opacities initially thought to represent paraproteinemic keratopathy (PK). Histopathologic analysis revealed lipid keratopathy (LK), preventing unnecessary treatment and changing the management of the patient. This case illustrates the diagnostic challenge of distinguishing LK from PK in patients with monoclonal gammopathies. bit.ly/4tzHzDn @AHAScience #AHAJournals

A new case report reveals the dangers of using unregulated dietary supplements. A 24-year-old woman developed gastrointestinal upset and cardiac arrhythmia after taking tejocote root, a common herbal supplement used for weight loss and to induce bowel movements. This case highlights why clinicians should maintain a high index of suspicion when assessing patients with unexplained cardiotoxic symptoms and consider dietary supplement histories. bit.ly/4ck8Naj @AHAScience #AHAJournals

Retatrutide, a triple-hormone receptor agonist, is hypothesized to have potentially greater efficacy than other #GLP1 medications; however, it does not have FDA approval and is currently in Phase 3 clinical trials. A new case report describes a patient who was hospitalized for severe diarrhea and acute kidney injury after self‑administration of #retatrutide that was purchased online. This case highlights safety concerns surrounding unregulated access to emerging weight‑loss therapies and the need for stronger oversight. bit.ly/3O7xT4a @AHAScience #AHAJournals
