It's caused by the pieces being too thin to support themselves when the next layer is being supplied so they move a little out of position while the head is there and move back as the head moves away. Either increase wall thickness or add support. You can see where the pieces start to flex too much to support themselves, so you might want to add a horizontal bar at that point to tie them all together and to the top and bottom face.
