Did the car collide with the rider or rider with the car?
If the rider collided why did the driver leave the scene?

@misguidedjenni Nope, agreed, we need advocates like you these days to stay - well dry and safe

So many footpaths are nearly completely unused in Outer Suburbs across Sydney and Melbourne.
Imagine if you could ride a bike to get your loaf of bread and milk. Or duck down to grab a coffee instead of driving.

@parislord retweet it around as much as possible, maybe we will get a few journos to see it

@mrbaptista @QuarioQ @AmericanFietser We found in research, people always talk of things like fridges etc, but never bring them home in their car anyway. It appears that large items are an excuse to why it can't happen, even though it doesn't to most car owners.
We have seen a huge growth in cargo e-bikes.
English

@QuarioQ @AmericanFietser It's an e-bike. Most work is not on you. It's on the motor.
A TV isn't bigger than a fridge. Furniture, depends. You can always have it delivered at home. Or rent a van.
How often do you move those sorts of things? Do you also own a plane in case you need to travel?

Interview number 2 is my take on this debate.
Caller number three was shocked with my admission.

@LotsHurts I keep saying this, and I'll say it again.
Our 3rd party insurance only works when people drive, so courts, government and police want you on the road no matter how bad you drive, and in a car.
Otherwise TAC and CTP would be bankrupted
English

In 2014 I worked for a NFP where we were told over and over again how one brand of car would be safer for cyclists than any other vehicle. Self driving would save us all.
Still hasn't happened, but here is something Musk would hate everyone to see:

@theheraldsun Great use of a photo that demonstrates the lack of intelligence of the Hun... You must leave the bike lane to turn right at the bottom of that hill - you dumb trolls.
Do a real story, how all the bike lanes allow for smooth traffic movement in the CBD

NEW: Can we stop the “arms race” of bigger & bigger vehicles in cities, & press pause on the huge growth of SUVs & pick-up trucks? My new PODCAST interview with @RadioNational @abcnews “Blueprint For Living,” Australia’s national broadcaster. Starts 17:45. abc.net.au/radionational/…

Currently cars and trucks in Australia can drive at 50 km/h around schools and kids walking to school.
Watch this video, then re-consider 30 km/h zones around schools and kids.
Who’s with me?

This is why we stopped using Twitter to communicate. @9NewsMelb is using this tweet to trash the cyclist in the court of public opinion, so even if this gets to court - everyone already will have an opinion
Twitter needs to die, not cyclists, not people - we are better than this

A motorist's dash cam has captured the moment a cyclist was flung off his bike after being hit by a BMW on the Princess Highway. The incident occurred last December in Springvale, with the BMW driver eventually stopping and returning to check on the 20-year-old cyclist. #9News

@DavidJay_AU @9NewsMelb Failing at so many of your interests here, but first, pay attention to everyone. Cyclist left lane is correct, driver not in turning lane is wrong. Please go get a new license test.

@ValueFocus @canetoad62 @RobBendigo @9NewsMelb @bicycle_network @VictoriaPolice @RACV_Official @amygillettfdn From my experience dealing with social media and bike crashes, we have found the driver or a friend of the driver. Pretty sure it would come out in court @canetoad62 has a connection.
English

@canetoad62 @RobBendigo @9NewsMelb @bicycle_network @VictoriaPolice @RACV_Official @amygillettfdn @AusCycle Nah, absolute bullshit.
Went flying past the dash cam car, who's indicating turning left and doing the right thing, clearly trying to beat dash cam around the corner, probably didn't even notice the cyclist.
No indicators
Illegal turn.
Cyclist's in the right position.

All I can think is how far Melbourne has fallen behind Sydney in its pursuit for safer cycling. @sallycapp @DanielAndrewsMP

The College St cycleway is back – this time for good! Before it was removed eight years ago, College St was one of the city’s most popular bike routes, with over 2,000 cyclists riding it daily. It was devastating to see it torn up, but its return is a sign of how far we've come.
