@saytoomuch I don’t really know, but it’s not a stretch to think there may be some higher ups there that don’t like me. Winning popularity contests has never been my strong suit.

Early in my career, @ThisIsTNA once tried to pull me off a @ringofhonor show the day of to fly me to Orlando early for their PPV. Before telling me they even called ROH to tell them I wasn’t coming. At the time, I was on a per-appearance deal.

@BostonArman The truth is it’s been a reoccurring problem no matter the regime. And it’s not just a TNA thing, it’s an overall industry problem that’s been accepted as just the way it is for decades.

@AustinAries Hi Austin sounds like you were in the right here if your version is what occurred. With that said, I don’t think TNA at that time has anything to do with TNA today it would be like a ROH wrestler from 15 years ago comparing a situation to ROH today.

2006. Austin Starr came after as they offered a real contract but I wouldn’t let them own my name. Then I was suspended again shortly thereafter for a “bad attitude” after TNA pulled paying for hotel and travel accommodations for the undercard guys and I had the audacity to ask to be compensated after being told to come work on an off travel day where I was covering all my expenses.

I did. They gave me a real contract. They also wanted to own my name, which I declined and thus Austin Starr was born. I was then suspended again shortly thereafter for a “bad attitude” after the company pulled paying for hotel and travel accommodations for the undercard guys and I had the audacity to ask to be compensated after being told to come work on an off travel day where I was covering all my expenses. Then during my suspension they secretly let ROH buy me out of my contract. When I returned my third and fourth time years later it was under different regimes.

@AustinAries Not saying your point isn't valid, but you still came back to TNA/Impact. Twice.

@AustinAries @AEWCer0Miedo @ThisIsTNA @ringofhonor Didn’t Roderick Strong also get in trouble for that? I feel like I remember this happening around the time you both debuted in TNA and were in that Survivor Series style x division elimination match. TNA did you guys dirty.

@TheRoonMeister Weird? I was a villain doing something “disrespectful” to create controversy and keep my heat for a rematch that unfortunately never happened.

@TheRoonMeister Well you post all about politics, so I’m not surprised you got worked by this too. It’s ok, you’re certainly not alone. (Pssst, it’s all theater.)

@davidpenzer Funny, I didn’t say he was. The reality is, thru various regime changes, @ThisIsTNA has repeatedly had issues with how poorly they treat talent and deal with contracts. Not a Carlos thing, or even exclusive to TNA. It’s long been accepted that’s just how pro wrestling operates.

@AustinAries Funny, I didn't know that Carlos Silva was in charge back then. Someone should probably fix wikipedia.

I’m grateful for the 15+ years I spent under contract and on TV. But now as a truly independent contractor, I value being in control of my bookings and staying out of the politics and nonsense. Book me and I show up. Be professional, honest and fair, and you’ll get the same.

Now 20 years later… Companies still playing political games, underpaid talent used as pawns, and media used to shape narratives. While talent and fans pay the price. It wasn’t right then, it isn’t right now. So label me what you will, but also know the origins of the labels.
