Today, I joined His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, at the signing of Executive Order No. 002 of 2026, a decisive step aimed at strengthening security, improving traffic management, and ensuring compliance with vehicle registration regulations across Oyo State.
The Executive Order reflects our collective commitment to protecting lives and property, especially in the light of recent security challenges confronting some parts of our state.
By providing a stronger legal framework for enforcement and introducing additional measures to curb criminal activities we have once again demonstrated our resolve to prioritize the safety and well-being of our people.
The restriction on commercial motorcycle operations between 10:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., alongside stricter enforcement of vehicle registration laws, is intended to support security agencies in tracking criminal elements and preventing the misuse of vehicles and motorcycles for unlawful activities.
Security remains a shared responsibility. I therefore urge residents to continue cooperating with security agencies, remain vigilant, and promptly report suspicious activities through the state's emergency channels.
Together, we will continue to build a safer, more secure, and more prosperous Oyo State for all.
