These iconic butterflies can be seen flying between May and June in damp or chalk grasslands where they lay large batches of eggs on their food plant, Devil’s-bit Scabious. 🌼 The larvae spin conspicuous webs that can easily be recorded in late summer. 🐛 #Springwatch

This goshwak has us shaking in our boots 🫠 Known as the phantom of the forest, goshawks can fly through the trees at up 40km per hour as they hunt birds and small mammals! 🙃 #Springwatch @BBCSpringwatch
