The President of the Republic of Botswana, H.E. Advocate Duma Gideon Boko, @BWPresidency, officially opens the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair 2026. In his remarks, President Boko applauded the deep fraternal relations between Botswana and Zimbabwe and said the two countries should collaborate to develop and uplift the lives of citizens. He acknowledged the visionary leadership of President @edmnangagwa and the resilience of Zimbabweans dating back to the struggle for Independence and the efforts to develop Zimbabwe. President Boko called upon businessmen in the two countries to lead the way in coming up with solutions to challenges and help governments to implement them. Botswana has a large contingent of businesses that are exhibiting at the ZITF2026.

H.E. President @edmnangagwa arrives in the Kingdom of Eswatini to attend the double celebration of His Majesty King Mswati III's 58th birthday and 40th anniversary as the King of Eswatini. He was received at King Mswati III Airport by the Prime Minister of Eswatini, His Excellency Russell Mmiso Dlamini, and Zimbabwe's Ambassador to Mozambique and the Kingdom of Eswatini, Amb. Victor Matemadanda. The milestone celebrations are being held under the theme "A King for the People, A Reign for the Ages: 40 Years Strong". Known as the Ngwenyama of Eswatini, King Mswati III ascended to the throne in 1986 at the age of 18, taking over from his father, the long reigning King Sobhuza II who died in 1982 after more than 82 years on the throne. The position of monarch was held in regency on behalf of the young prince until he turned 18 in 1986. Zimbabwe and the Kingdom of Eswatini share cordial relations and both countries are members of SADC and COMESA. Several African leaders are expected to attend the main celebrations at Somhlolo National Stadium in Lobamba tomorrow.

On 16 April 2026, H.E. Ambassador Isaac Ananias Moyo, had the honour to present his Letters of Credence to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates.
