The Irish entry was quite appalling, even worse than the somewhat bland British entry (tho it seemed to go down well in the hall). The irony is that behind the ugly “Witcher” schtick of the Irish singer I think there lurks a pretty decent voice. Anyway all academic now: my max 20 votes have gone to Israel’s Eden Golan, who combined talent with good song — and a bucketload of bravery.

Harassment of a neurosurgeon on London Elizabeth line: I was sitting on the train busy reading a research article& listening to music when these guys came and started harassing/threatening/hitting me without a reason. I changed seats! started filming in the end so they left!

Jimmy Savile lived in the same block of flats as my grandparents. He often asked them to let me go to his apartment, to talk about pop music. Without further explanation they would never let me go - forever grateful their instinct trumped my disappointment #TheReckoning
