Hulk Hogan is a lightening rod, and I'm sure that his peers, and those closest to him will have mixed feelings about. Without a shadow of a doubt, Hulk Hogan directly and indirectly put millions of dollars into the pockets of 1000s of wrestlers...

@DylanBallard_UK Shit in one hand and wish in the other. Pope is in way over his goofy ass head. This season will be worse than the covid team

This is not over. There are a lot of big names left on the board, and you can recover. A few big names. I don’t know if Kentucky can get them or not. It’s just alarming that they are really struggling to close these guys and mismanaging these situations so poorly.

@TristanUda No AD, no GM, Pope hasn't said a word publicly since the Iowa State game. This experiment has turned into a disaster.

While bleak, it’s not over. Kentucky has the money to try and attract Draft entrees and euro options. This offseason goes to show why you have to build teams with retention, HS recruiting, AND the transfer portal. If you rely too heavily on one, you’re at a disadvantage.
Tristan Pharis@TristanUda

Kentucky has missed out on Dink Pate, Rob Wright, and Donnie Freeman, three of their top 7-8 targets this offseason. I’m usually in the “let it play out” camp, but with a not so deep portal and most top options already off the board, things are looking bleak for UK’s roster.

I am a big believer that you don’t judge the Portal process until it’s over. But Pope has to upgrade the roster significantly in the next couple of weeks

JMI, Mitch Barnhart, and Mark Pope have put the UK men's basketball program on life support. It's a brand new era, and UK is tragically way behind.

Is it possible Pope doesn't understand the assignment at all?

On the flip side, Will Stein may flop as a head coach. I doubt it, but maybe the in-game decision-making, the pressure of managing an entire team, and everything that comes with the job ends up being too much. We won’t know until we know, and truthfully, it may take 2–3 seasons to find out if he really has the chops to be a head coach in the SEC. But for right now he’s controlling what he can control. Donors, recruits, transfers, coaches, and families believe in his plan and his vision. Kentucky football was staring at a 2-10 season, maybe worse. Now he has national media talking about his turnaround and a top-10 recruiting class. And he’s doing this because he can do this. People are buying into his message. The same cannot be said about Kentucky basketball right now. Leadership is getting people to believe before they have proof. Right now, Will Stein is doing that. Kentucky basketball is not.
T.J. Walker@TJWalkerRadio

If Mark Pope could make this better, he would. But he can’t, and that’s why Kentucky basketball keeps ending up in these tough and disappointing spots. At some point, you have to believe what the results are telling you. Time and time again. “Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake.” No fan base is currently worried about UK basketball and that's an issue.

Absolutely not. The Beer Bracket is exactly where Doitche shines. If we did a spring break house but it's just dudes making beer brackets together he'd be a mega star on that show. And maybe we should do that show.
Andrew Hawkins@DrewRHawk

@BarstoolBigCat Does this hurt any future beer brackets? Cause that’s what’s important here

@GarrettLink8 @Espngreeny The Bengals have a horrible track record with taking defensive players with their 1st round picks. They have a scouting department of 4 guys, that's not a joke. Anyone outside of Downs, Bain, Reese etc. would be a reach.

@BTC_lessBadger @Espngreeny Typically picking that high in the 1st round means ur getting a day one starter. It’s really like the 9th pick as well since Fernando going 1 to the raiders. A QB in which the bengals do not need.

Seems to me the most obvious reason #Bengals make this deal is they need Joe Burrow to feel excited about being there, and Dexter Lawrence has a much better chance of doing that this year than anyone they might take at ten.

@BTC_lessBadger @Espngreeny Trey actually sacks the quarterback he will have 2-3 good years with Baltimore before the decline. The draft pick could have been a solid young star, instead the Bengals have a DT for 3-4 years before he declines.

@Espngreeny Could have just resigned Trey and went with a great young player at 10. But sure the aging DT Dexter is a huge hit with Burrow.

@Espngreeny I think it's more the Bengals felt there's a good chance with the 10th spot the key defensive guys they had targeted would be out of the picture. Rather than gambling on a reach, or taking the best guy and not necessarily at a position of need, they traded for a difference maker
