Still struggling somewhat getting the settings right on the R7 but had to try and capture this gorgeous Wood Warbler in the Forest of Dean yesterday. My favourite British Warbler and it was a joy to get prolonged views of one that was not high in the canopy. #GlosBirds

This Tree Pipit is holding territory on Midsummer Hill #MalvernHills. Noting it had a metal ring last week I managed to obtain enough images for it to be read. Turns out it was ringed in the Forest of Dean #GlosBirds on 11.08.16, smashing the UK longevity record for the species.

It's #WorldCurlewDay today and it's been an honour to paint one of these majestic birds for @curlewaction @curlewcalls in Stroud, with its chick, in a wildflower meadow, ideal curlew habitat. Work in progress photos #curlew

Hi, fantastic news, this event is now fully booked. Entrance will only be given to ticket holders or if we have confirmed we are holding a ticket on the door for you. Unfortunately, there won’t be any availability to anyone turning up on the day without any of the above.

Goshawks displaying, Peregrines on territory, Ravens on eggs, the breeding season has well and truly started and so our last talk before ringing is Sophie-lee Williams and Restoring WTEs to SE Wales and Severn Estuary. …ea01.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%…

Sad to hear Bettie Sloane passed away at the weekend. I'll always remember her with a smile, like this day when we raced her in her wheelchair out to the hide to see her first ever Black-winged Stilt. RIP m'dear 💙 @slimbridge_wild @WWTSlimbridge #GlosBirds

1. As an ecologist with a growing fascination with breeding birds in the upland fringes of Herefordshire, Id like to spend this winter swatting up on some relevant research so that I’m well prepared for next spring. This image of the Ochlon fills me with excitement. @HerefsBirds
