@srsupp I think that's what we need to change - the way we see the publishing process as a complex (!) process, all our roles in it and that we need them all together if we want to improve the process.

*Thank you* to all those invited to review a paper who decline and leave additional suggestions of names to ask. It's been so hard to get reviewers lately. I think on average I've sent around 20 invitations to get 2 reviewers? One time nearly 30... 😭

@srsupp seen as the (mysterious) ones who have it all in their hands ... from my perspective they try their best, but hardly have time to do their job (same as for doing reviews we are happy that some people do it, but in the end it’s better if others do it).

@srsupp Publishing is a collaborative activity with different roles - we need to learn to embrace and appreciate them all and identify with all of them. It seems to me that we all can and want to see ourselves as authors, but the (evil) reviewers are always the others and the editors are

Research is a communal activity. So is publishing. We need all the different roles in this process, we need to value them all, and we need to be given the opportunity to develop in these roles.
