The Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue in Bali is the tallest statue in Indonesia standing approx. 400 ft tall including its pedestal. Completed in 2018 by sculptor Nyoman Nuarta, it depicts the Hindu god Vishnu riding the mythical eagle Garuda, symbolizing protection and preservation.

#WordOfTheDay DALCOP An old English insult referring to a particularly stupid person, idiot, or "dull-head". Derived from "cop" (an old word for head) and "dal" (dull), it is often used in a similar context to "hare-brained".

Shocking Blue - “Love Buzz” [1969] Cool sitar-driven raga-rock single from this Dutch band with haunting vocals by singer Mariska Veres. This track gained later notoriety when it was covered by Nirvana as their debut single in 1988.

The Tammys - “Egyptian Shumba” Obscure girl-group song from 1963 - famous for its chaotic energy and wild vocal delivery - a frantic mix of garage rock and Brill Building pop, featuring primitive shrieks, barks, and animal-like "eek-eek" and "ow-ow" sound effects.

Emy Jackson is the first Japanese artist to have sold a million records singing in English. In 1965 her debut single "Crying In A Storm" was released and reached the #4 position on the charts.

The androgynous, bohemian girl group The Cake perform “You Can Have Him” on The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour in 1967. The Cake recorded their own material, setting them apart from other girl groups of the time.

"It Won't Last Too Long" is a 1965 garage rock single by the girl group Patti's Groove. Originally released on Columbia Records as a 7" vinyl single.

Gail Harris was a featured singer with The Fabulous Wailers, a highly influential garage rock band from Tacoma, Washington. She joined them as a 13-year-old in 1959 and became a regular part of their R&B revue-style shows throughout the Pacific Northwest in the early 1960s.

She - “Outta Reach” (1970) She was an all-female garage rock band from Sacramento, California, active between 1964 and 1971, originally known as The Id and later The Hairem. They were a rare 1960s group that played their own instruments and wrote original material.

The Moppets “Come See About Me” (1966) This all-girl group from Massachusetts was popular on the east coast college circuit, and toured in a 1957 Cadillac hearse nicknamed Giraffe.

"You Don't Love Me" is a garage rock single by the American female duo Kim and Grim, released in May 1965 on Flamingo Records. The song is a cover of the blues standard originally written and recorded by Willie Cobbs in 1960.

The Models were an all-female duo consisting of real-life fashion models Janice Pennington & Susan Schell. Their version of “Bend Me, Shape Me” — released as a single on MGM Records in 1967 — features heavy fuzz guitar, feedback, and significant use of reverb and echo.

Dara Puspita was Indonesia's first all-female rock band, becoming a pioneering force in the 60s garage rock and "beat" music scene. Formed in Surabaya in 1964, they were one of the few girl groups of the era who played their own instruments rather than relying on a backing band.

The Debutantes "A New Love Today" (1966) Formed in Detroit, this was one of America's first all-female rock bands. Founded by Jan McClellan at age 14 after she saw The Beatles on Ed Sullivan. They toured all 50 U.S. states, Canada, Germany, and across Asia to entertain troops during the Vietnam War.

The She Trinity were a Canadian & British all-girl band of the 1960s. “Climb That Tree” was the B side of the their final single recorded in 1969. It’s an unusual track that has become a cult favorite among enthusiasts of heavy psychedelia and early progressive rock.

The Daughters of Eve "Hey Lover" {1966} The Daughters of Eve is considered the first female rock band from Chicago, and the group released four singles during their existence, before disbanding in 1968.

The Pussycats were an all-girl garage rock group known for their raw and raunchy 1965 single "I Want Your Love," released on Columbia Records.

The Pleasure Seekers “What A Way To Die” (1965) Mid-60s all-female rock band from Detroit featuring Suzi Quatro, who led the band with her sisters Patti and Arlene, before embarking on a successful solo career.
